Ian’s Insight

As it becoming something of a December tradition, I’d like to take the opportunity afforded to me by the last newsletter of the year to speak directly to everyone who has dealings with Conçerva. The position of Managing Director is a challenging role, and the circumstances of 2020 have made it more so than ever before, however the year could have been so much worse.

Fortunately, the entirety of Conçerva, from the Directors and all subsequent levels down through the company have gone above and beyond in this unfamiliar new normal that we’ve settled into. Since March the team has been consigned to working from home and taken to this situation in a manner I am most proud of.

As per our last newsletter, the situation regarding our return to the office remains under review and as soon as the decision to reopen the building is made, we will communicate this to you. Hopefully the next twelve months are far and away superior to the twelve that have gone before, however for now, I would like to wish you well as the new year of 2021 looms ever closer.

Brian’s Brainstorm

This is the time of year that pundits and commentators are asked for their forecasts for next year.  I have long declined to participate in this exercise mainly because I don’t know.  Being asked to predict where the FTSE 100 will be at the end of the following year is about as useful as trying to forecast the air temperature in London at noon on September 20th.

So instead, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best for 2021.

Staff Matters

  • Recently, this section of our newsletter has been a tricky one to put together. The lockdowns have rendered it difficult for the team to so much as leave their homes.
  • However, one employee has managed to buck this trend. Liam Taylor has managed to pass enough exams to achieve Chartered status with our governing body.
  • An achievement he’s worked hard towards; everyone at Conçerva is proud of his success and look forward to him advising in the near future.
  • The team will be unavailable from 5pm on 23rd December 2020 and will return to their remote terminals at 8.30am on 4th January 2021.
